What does Armageddon Stand for?

The word Armageddon comes from the expression “Har-Magedón” which means “Mount of Megiddo” -local located approximately 30 km south of Nazareth-. It is a biblical term that means the place where the battle will take place, between the forces of good and evil.

The word armageddon in Spanish is armageddon.

In the Bible, the term Armageddon appears in the book of Revelation or Revelation 16, 14-16, which outlines the following:

“For they are spirits of demons, who make signs, and go to the kings of the earth throughout the world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of Almighty God. Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his clothes, that he may not walk naked, and see his shame. And he gathered them together in the place called Armageddon in Hebrew. ”

In relation to the biblical passage identified, each author analyzes and observes the word Armageddon differently, and points out some examples:

  • Some authors indicate that in Meguido there is no mountain, and in the Jezreel Valley it is very small for the number of people who would attend the battle against God. And it is in this sense that they analyze Armageddon not as a place but as an event where all the political powers come together to face God.
  • Others state that Armageddon relates to a spiritual battle between Christ and his enemies, like Satan.
  • There is another opinion, which from the geographical perspective indicates that Armageddon is Mount Carmel, taking place in the historical battle between Elijah and Ball’s prophets, so they add that the battle of Armageddon depends on it.
  • Finally, some authors claim that the biblical passage of Jeremiah 46:10 also refers to Armageddon, and that is why they claim that it is near the Euphrates River.

However, and under the different beliefs, and interpretations, the dominant one among Jews, Christians and Islamists, is that Armageddon is the last battle that will take place at the end of time, between Christ and the forces of good, against the forces of evil. and Satan Achieving overcoming Christ and eliminating all false prophets leaving the world free of all evil, corruption, injustice, hate and its equivalents, reigning peace, and tranquility on earth, while the righteous will go to heaven to be next to God.

On the other hand, the term Armageddon is related to the end times, because of the celebration of the last battle of total destruction. In extension, it is also customary to describe a serious and important problem.
