According to Abbreviationfinder, HA stands for Home Automation. In Latin is where the etymological origin of the term home automation is found. We can determine exactly what is the result of the sum of several components of said language:
-The noun “domus”, which means “house”.
-The suffix “-tica”, which is used to indicate “related to”.
Home automation is the set of techniques and systems that allow the automation of the various installations of a house.
Home automation not only helps to increase well -being, but also provides greater security and helps save energy. Through these systems, the different services and facilities of the home can be linked and managed remotely or automatically, even from outside the building.
Home automation is often associated with the concept of smart home. Its tools allow lighting, air conditioning and home security to be controlled through sensors, detectors, actuators and communication networks.
Through home automation, for example, it is possible to program an awning so that it closes automatically when it detects sunlight. With a thermostat you can turn the heating or air conditioning on or off, while the lights can also be turned on or off at a predetermined time (something that allows, among other things, that the street door light is turned on at the hour in which the owner of the house usually arrives from work).
In terms of security, home automation makes it possible to install smoke, water, carbon monoxide, heat and movement detectors, protecting the home from possible fires, floods, gas leaks or intruders. These detectors are connected to alarms that give notice of an incident and also to video cameras that can be followed through the Internet.
In the same way, we cannot ignore that another of the most important advantages of home automation is that it allows anyone to feel that this house is their true home, since it will allow the house to be adapted to their needs in terms of temperature., lighting, music, security…
This without forgetting that today a large part of the home automation devices in a home can be controlled remotely through the mobile phone or tablet, for example. That is why it is allowed, for example, to turn on the heating when you are on your way so that when you arrive there is a perfect temperature.
However, not everything is beneficial in terms of home automation. We can also establish that there are some drawbacks, among which the following should be highlighted:
-Putting it in a home entails having to make a large investment. And it is that this technology has a high cost.
-In the same way, it should be noted that any fault in the system can make the house absolutely blocked in many aspects.
-It also requires that all the members of the house be updated on the operation of the different home automation devices in order to use them properly.
