Stanford University students Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard founded HP in 1939. The first product of the

company was made in a garage in Palo Alto, it was an audio oscillator, an electronic instrument used by sound engineers. One of HP’s first customers was Walt Disney Studios who purchased eight oscillators to test a sound system for the movie Fantasia.
